The forwarding company Pohl was founded in 1820 by Josef Pohl as the “Nürnberger Bote”.
In the early 1950s, Georg Pohl, the company’s owner in the fourth generation, acquired the first truck that was used in long-distance transport. The general cargo within Forchheim was delivered by horse and carriage until 1960.
Even before the death/retirement of senior boss Georg Pohl in 1984, his son Adolf Pohl took over the management in 1968.
In 1971, with the acquisition of an area in Zeckern, he created the basis for a warehouse complex with around 26,000 square meters of covered usable space.
In 2007 the new company headquarters and a 7,100 m² logistics center will be built in Forchheim-Kersbach.
In 2008 Natascha Pohl, the daughter of Adolf Pohl, was appointed managing director.
In 2016, the Erlangen-Tennenlohe branch was established with a storage area of 2,900 m².
The Pohl forwarding company, founded in 1820 as the “Nürnberger Bote”, celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2020.
As a family company with over 200 years of tradition, we pursue a future-oriented corporate policy in which sustainable action is internalized and thus can endure long-term.
